I was chatting in the company group when I accidentally tapped my photo album and sent a picture of an imperial-green jadeite bangle from my phone.
I recalled it immediately.
But a sharp-eyed coworker had already recognized it: the group chairman had spent tens of millions on it at an auction last year, as a birthday gift for his only son.
Someone buttered me up: “So the rumors are true. The young master really does work at our company.”
I thought there was no way to keep my identity secret now.
To my surprise, someone immediately jumped in to berate me:
“Some people have no shame. They take a few sneaky photos and think they can pass themselves off as someone else.”
“Trying to show off to the real deal? You picked the wrong person to mess with.”
