I Left Everything Behind and Went Abroad, and Now My Two Childhood Friends Are Heartbroken

Outside the office, Gu Rushuang and Qin Wan, who had promised to pick me up when I was discharged, were chatting and laughing with an intern. When they looked up and saw me, their expressions instantly turned cold. “It was just a little cut. He still insisted we come pick him up.” I looked down at the bandage around my waist, still seeping blood, and gave a bitter smile. Gu Rushuang and Qin Wan had been my childhood friends. We went to school together, worked together, and had been close for over twenty years. Yet that meant less to them than the two short months they'd known Feng Xueting. Once, even a hangnail on my finger would have had them worried sick. Now they stayed by Feng Xueting's side and could barely be bothered to look at me. Watching them laugh more and more happily, I finally let go. I turned and walked away, then made a call. “All right, President Meng. Once I've finished the resignation paperwork, I can go abroad next month.”
