At the invitation of his mentor, Zhao Zheng returns from abroad to take over as captain of the criminal investigation team. Chen Chen, director of the forensic center at the Q City Public Security Bureau, comes from a well-off family and is a talented young man. He and Han Lin have been friends since childhood and are the closest of friends. He also works well with Zhao Zheng. Yet everyone wonders why he has been alone all these years... Han Lin, captain of the Q City criminal investigation team and Zhao Zheng's junior, is transferred to Z City for various reasons. But he never expected to have been caught up in the case from the very beginning, and in the end, it leaves him utterly heartbroken... (Content warning: There is a romance, but not much of one. There is a little bit of a straight-to-gay arc, though he was never quite that straight to begin with. If that's not your thing, don't read. The cases are told one at a time. Some are inspired by real cases, while others are original. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.)
