On a stormy night, dark clouds hid the stars and moon, shrouding the entire forest in darkness. The wind howled furiously, as if foretelling the wickedness about to unfold. Just then, two furtive figures emerged among the trees. Carrying an unconscious woman, they staggered along a muddy path.
One of them set down the lantern in his hand. Its feeble light flickered in the wind and rain, illuminating two faces twisted with fear. Their eyes brimmed with terror and unease, and their trembling hands could barely hold their tools. The two men dropped the woman they had been carrying onto the muddy ground. The lantern's faint glow barely lit her face: it was Yutong, once a beautiful and gentle woman, now deathly pale, her eyes shut and her body lifeless.
"Don't blame us, Miss Yutong... We're only following orders," one of them said, his voice trembling as if he were about to cry. The other merely nodded in silence, his hands shaking nonstop, as though he had just done something terrible.
The two men began digging a small pit. Rainwater mixed with the soil, making the task extraordinarily difficult. Yet they dared not slacken for a moment. The order behind them was like a death warrant, forcing them to finish this cruel task as quickly as possible.
