Genshin Impact: The Heartbroken Doll in the Doctor's Palm

(No romance!)

“I was betrayed three times, and so I learned that everything in this world is merely a veil of deception.”

“The first was a god. My creator, my ‘mother.’”

“Swayed by power, she abandoned me as useless.”

“The second was humanity. My family, my friends.”

“Bound by fear, they saw me as something loathsome.”

“The third was my own kind. My hopes, the fledgling bird whose wings had yet to grow.”

“Controlled by their limited lifespan, they broke their promise to me.”

“Cast everything aside, and fill my emptiness with a god’s heart!”

Yet the puppet’s delusion of becoming a god was ultimately trapped in the dreamlike cage the God of Wisdom had built for him. He was defeated by the Traveler, and his dream of godhood shattered.

After his defeat, by the god’s grace, he finally glimpsed the truth behind his former friend’s betrayal!

“Dottore…”

Knowing the depth of his sins, he sought to cleanse the past and reclaim his heart by striking at Irminsul.

After he struck at Irminsul, the Traveler, their companions, and the God of Wisdom helped him recover his past.

The calamities he had caused with his own hands could not be undone, but the world’s memories of the puppet had disappeared.

“My new journey is one of wandering…”

Yet the puppet was a plaything in the Doctor’s palm. He may have outlived his usefulness, but how could the Doctor let a heartless puppet find his heart again?

Though everyone had forgotten the puppet’s past, the Doctor, who had once created many segments, had kept one card up his sleeve.

Just as the puppet was about to begin his new journey, the Doctor appeared before him once more and gave a deeply ironic smile beneath his hateful gaze.

“Wandering? Scaramouche? Kunikuzushi?”

“Heh heh, you’ll never escape my grasp…”
