You Actually Like Me!

[Bottom POV] [Quiet and gentle top VS sweet, innocent, and clingy bottom] Content warning: The bottom starts out very overweight and loses weight later, but never gets very thin. He stays on the chubby side.

In Xie Bao’s eyes, Ling Yu was the stereotypical beautiful-but-tragic character from a novel: unloved by his parents, withdrawn, a teenage genius... He had all the usual traits. By all rights, someone like that should have had nothing to do with Xie Bao, yet somehow the two became friends.

A little scene: One day, the two of them were on a video call.

“Then can I come see you tomorrow?” Xie Bao quickly asked. “I miss you so much. I thought I’d have to wait until school started to see you.”

His frank “I miss you so much” made Ling Yu freeze for a moment. Emotions churned in his eyes, as though he were holding something back. His normally cool voice turned a little husky as he said, “Xie Bao, you’re so clingy.”

“Hm?” Xie Bao stared at the person on the other side of the video call, his big, innocent eyes full of confusion. “But we’ve been apart...”

“Twenty-five days and eighteen hours,” Ling Yu said.

Xie Bao nodded. “Exactly. It’s almost been a month. Don’t you miss me?”

He stared straight at Ling Yu like a little dog begging for a treat, waiting hopefully for the food he wanted.

Ling Yu awkwardly looked away and gave a soft “Mm.” His earlobes burned as though someone had set them on fire.
