During the Qin'an period of the Great Song Dynasty, the majesty and credibility of the official newspapers had lost to various anecdotal tabloids among the people. The late emperor ordered the creation of a new department of the Dujin Memorial Hall, Cangli Division, to publish important matters of people's livelihood to counteract the tabloids. Five young men with different backgrounds, Ye Lanzhou, Shen Bi, Wei Fuguang, Chen Huaixu, and Yin Rumo, successively entered the Cangli Division as officials, starting a passionate journey of ancient young civil servants working hard to improve KPIs and petitioning for the people.
