The story begins from Bai Qi's rise to his final fall, with Zhang Shu assisting and personally experiencing every important decision-making and battle. However, as the power struggle intensified, Zhang Shu gradually fell into the complex political struggle of Qin State.
The novel closely follows major historical events or wars, revealing the political games and character struggles behind them. The main plot revolves around the unification war of the Qin State, supplemented by the growth of the characters, inner struggles and choices, showing the vicissitudes of the Warring States period and the complexity of human nature.
