In the turbulent final years of the Ming dynasty, Li Xi, a modern high school history teacher, accidentally transmigrates. Faced with an empire on the verge of collapse, he resolves to rewrite history using what he knows. He allies with Zhou Jing, a local power broker, and together they establish a mutual-defense alliance, hoping to resist internal and external threats with guerrilla tactics and preserve the Ming empire.
However, the court’s corruption and suspicion, along with the secret struggles among various factions, make the situation even more complicated. As Li Xi wins battles, he also becomes entangled in the whirlpool of power.
