My fiancé was dating someone else, and the diamond ring he'd bought for a young woman was mistakenly delivered to my father's funeral.
He told me not to make a scene, saying the position of Mrs. Pei would always be mine. But on our wedding day, he tossed his groom's suit to his friend. “Go through the ceremony for me. Qiqi tried to kill herself.”
I warned him not to do it. His board members were watching. He called me heartless. “Two lives are at stake, and you've already got your place as Mrs. Pei. What more could you want?”
Later, his eyes bloodshot, he stared at me and his friend. “Sheng Mingjiao, what's that on your neck? Mo Yanting, what is going on?”
Mo Yanting pulled me into his arms and laughed brazenly. “I filled in for him on the wedding night too. No need to thank me!”
I really like the author's short articles. The characters are vividly described and the story is deeply rooted in people's hearts without too many entanglements. The protagonist and supporting characters are well described and help each other without too much entanglement. But it would be better if the author drives more small cars.
