The Female Shopkeeper: Nothing to Do With Romance

Zheng Peipei’s unrequited love had always been hers alone. She thought it would end when she fled her husband’s family with her two children amid the chaos of war. But after she had struggled all the way to the provincial capital next door, settled in, and finally believed she could live in peace, fate brought the man she had secretly loved throughout her girlhood back into her life, this time in a situation she could take advantage of. What should Zheng Peipei do...?

The years of longing for someone she could never have were behind them. These two young people, both fleeing their marriages, had been given another chance in a conservative age, but with children of their own, neither could bring themselves to take that final step. As they struggle to survive, the heroine works her way to success, raising children and making money at the same time! In the end, she reaches the pinnacle of power. She enters public life through commerce, rising from shopkeeper to powerful minister, attaining heights few men could ever hope to reach. Meanwhile, the would-be male lead barely scrapes by, relying on the heroine’s secret support.
