Other people transmigrate into Journey to the West: they become disciples of Patriarch Bodhi, wreak havoc in Heaven, calmly complete the journey for the scriptures, rebel against the Western Heaven, and kill Tathagata.
Or they use a cultivation-world offering, demonic cultivation, mythology, System, and Primordial Chaos-style nation-building approach where the nation helps them become immortals first.
But when I transmigrated into Journey to the West, I had no power I could offer up to the nation. Worse, from the start, I was bound to a useless God-Slaying System. Sure, I can tear up the script of the Heavenly Dao, but is it reasonable to make me work to help all the people of China become gods?
Master Tang Sanzang? He's the "Demon Child Holy Monk," fused with Nezha's data. His Fire-Tipped Spear is made for poking the Western Heaven in the rear.
Second junior brother Bajie? He's the "Heavenly Marshal with a Rebellious Streak," awakened to his memories of a past life. His rake is made for smashing the tiles of the Celestial Palace.
Third junior brother Sha Seng? He's the "Netherworld Judge," fused with the soul of the Lotus Lantern's judicial deity. His Demon-Slaying Staff is made for cracking the gods over the head.
And me, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong, have become the captain of this "Alliance Against the Heavenly Dao" and its only normal member, at least according to me.
Every day, the moment I open my eyes, the System prompts me:
"You have a new god-slaying order. Please check it."
Orders range from [Beat the Sea God Tang San to a pulp] to [Teach Kamen Rider a lesson], from [Take on Ksitigarbha head-on] to [Find the fragments of Fuxi]...
Then, after I smash open the gates of Zixiao Palace with my staff, I see a "fellow countryman" with the same baffled expression as me.
Hongjun: "You and I have no feud..."
Me: "Wrong. We do. You make me work overtime without even giving me social insurance or a housing fund. On top of that, you stole China's merit and fortune to support the United States."
"Today, either you step down and hand over all the merit and fortune, or I'll smash your Heavenly Dao server."
"Your choice."
It's okay, but it's very thoughtful and a little different from other works I've come across.
