A burned-out translator dies of a heart attack brought on by overwork, then transmigrates into the body of a woman with the same name in the fictional Great Xing Dynasty. She becomes the dynasty’s first female Imperial Preceptor who doesn’t want to be empress.
System: [Congratulations, Host! You’ve successfully made ice. The Creation System is now bound to you.]
Mu Nianchu: “I have a System already? I was just saying that for the sake of it.”
System: [Host, everything in my shop is free. No quests or fighting monsters. I’m here to serve you for free.]
Mu Nianchu: “Free things are the most expensive, you know?”
System: “You only need to invent things that don’t exist in this dynasty.” (The unspoken part: Help me upgrade into an SSS System.)
Mu Nianchu: “You want me to get killed as a demon? Dream on.”
System: “You’ll get a chance to be reborn in the modern world.”
Mu Nianchu: “That’s easy. Leave it to me.”
And so, on the road to Shu, Mu Nianchu begins her “scientist’s journey.” She starts with food, then moves on to clothing, inside and out. Next come the “Four Great Inventions” from transmigration novels, along with seismographs, levels... “System, have I done enough?”
System: [Not yet, Host. Think about it: you’ll get the chance to be reborn in the modern world.]
Mu Nianchu: “You make a good point. I’ll keep going.”
She builds an army, schools, and a women’s mutual-aid organization... But somehow, things seem to be going off track. The people who travel alongside Mu Nianchu end up as generals, local tycoons, or bodyguards. Whenever they can’t make up their minds, they report to Mu Nianchu. If she says one, nobody says two...
Mu Nianchu: “This has gone a bit off course. I’m just an ordinary person who wants to enjoy the love of those around me!”
