You and I are connected, in life and in death. Matter never vanishes, and consciousness endures forever.

In the year 00 of the Lan calendar, humanity set foot on Cyber Continent. Farewell to the dangerous creatures that invaded the land.

One hundred thousand people donned their armor, and here they built a new home.

Machines were the handiest tools: they carved ice for water and raised buildings from the ground.

A wide range of mechanical functions helped humanity transform Cyber Continent. Bright hopes drove the refugees to settle here and divide up the work.

On the ice continent, we crossed thin ice with our hands and feet bound.

The blade chops down the hammer's head. Both sides have weapons, so how should we build our home?

Cyber Continent is no place for the living. People need enough sunlight and air, and a stable temperature. Cyber Continent has none of these!

What is there beyond survival? In the year 2400 of the Lan calendar, the vanguard of District One was wiped out. We have to flee.

In the year 2604 of the Lan calendar, the chronicle of the hundred generations of humanity comes to a temporary end.

The Nier sets sail. Cross the conveyor belt, and you become Linying No. 001, forever of the 00 generation.

Glaciers completely replace the yellow earth. The 00 generation is transported aboard the giant Cyber Nier. You are a life that once ran across Cyber Continent, and your blood blazes a trail for the Nier. In the year 3111 of the Lan calendar, during the thaw, a signal is sent to the 99 generation. That signal is everything you can see.

Your role is ever-changing. A path to survival awaits you here. You are of the 99 generation, the last generation to carry on the will of the ancestors.

Main viewpoint: Jiang Xi of the 99 generation. Supporting viewpoints: Cyber animals of the 00 generation, and mechanics from the 01 generation onward.
