My Mother's Death Anniversary, My Funeral

My birthday falls on the same day as my mother's death anniversary.

After she died, I stopped celebrating my birthday.

When the killer held a gun to my head, they forced me to call my dad.

"Dad, today is my eighteenth birthday. Can you come celebrate with me?"

But Dad didn't notice anything was wrong. All I heard in reply was a furious stream of curses filled with hatred.
