Deep in Yunmeng

My elder sister is a renowned female general, and she and the Crown Prince are in love with each other. But the Crown Prince already has a Crown Princess, and my sister refuses to become a concubine. The two of them bought a house outside the palace and called themselves husband and wife without a matchmaker or betrothal gifts. One day, after arguing with the Crown Prince, my sister came home and caught me trying on a wedding dress. “Men in this world are mostly fickle. Better to marry someone from our own household than an outsider. At least then you can have a devoted partner for life.” Using her authority as a female general, she forced me to marry the steward’s son. After we married, my husband used my sister’s reputation as a general to justify beating and berating me. When she heard about it, she only sighed that life was hard, then sent over some nourishing tonics. Later, my husband had nothing left to fear and grew even more brutal, beating me to death while I was pregnant. Reborn, I lifted my veil and met the Crown Prince’s dazzled gaze. Elder Sister, in this life, everything you want will become a stepping-stone on my path to the throne. Including your life.
