Playing for Power

Beneath the ancient imperial city lie secrets and entanglements unknown to the world.

When the fates of twin princesses are cruelly torn apart, one remains in a resplendent palace, becoming the eldest legitimate princess, second to none. The other is banished to the distant northern deserts, where she is tempered by wind and sand into a battle-hardened general.

Fifteen years pass in the blink of an eye. The wheels of fate turn quietly, and the two princesses, who were never meant to meet again, unexpectedly reunite on a battlefield engulfed in flames of war.

Now, courtly schemes and lust for power, the tangled grievances and affections of the imperial family, and the trampling hooves of foreign invaders intertwine to create a sweeping historical panorama. Amid this turbulent age, how will the sisters find their own paths and protect the beliefs they hold dear?
