In This World, We Guard Each Other in the Known Future

In this world, you’ll see Qingfeng Sect disciples picking people up all over the place to unlock entries in their compendium; a power system where cultivators advance from Heavenly Spirit to Earthly Origin and undergo tribulation to change classes; fellow disciples forming all kinds of teams to fight off invasions from other worlds; and schemes colliding as the sect’s own brothers and sisters face off.

It all began with an unintentional act by the head of Qingfeng Sect. He accidentally discovered the truth about the world, saw other worlds, and stumbled upon a conspiracy capable of destroying everything.

To prevent the foretold annihilation, he deliberately provoked the mastermind, buying time for his disciples.

As sect leader, he shouldered the blame and began manipulating the fate of everyone in the world, placing them on a chessboard and playing against Him every moment.

Meanwhile, his disciples, including Long Shalie, grew up knowing nothing, unknowingly setting out on a path entirely opposite to their master’s.

This is:

An ensemble story about six orphans.

A battle of wits as a group of people who aren’t very good at fighting take on opponents at higher cultivation levels.

A story of everyday life protected by a bunch of old geezers.

A life manipulated by outsiders, its ending revealed from the very beginning.

A story about strangers protecting one another.

Reality stands upon the chessboard, yet also lies beyond it. Until a third party overturns the table and brings the game to an abrupt end.

How many players are there at the board?

Should they find a way to win an endgame, or... cheat?
