Three thousand years ago, Yingzhao accidentally broke into a forbidden zone on Mount Kunlun and fought the ancient divine beast Lu Wu for three days and three nights, tearing off one of the Qiming Beast's tails.
To make amends, Yingzhao secretly gave Lu Wu some spirit herbs from the Heavenly Emperor's flower garden and cared for him for five hundred years.
But this also brought divine punishment upon Yingzhao, who was cast down into the mortal world.
Three thousand years later, someone maliciously burned the Heavenly Emperor's Classic of Mountains and Seas, and countless monsters fled to the mortal world.
Lu Wu was ordered to descend and capture the ferocious beasts.
There, he encountered the lover he had lost three thousand years ago: Yingzhao, now head of Team Five at the Civilian Supernatural Incident Investigation Bureau.
Lu Wu secretly followed him as he investigated cases.
A wealthy man turned into a stinking dried corpse...
White fog and a giant snake appearing in a village...
The bones of twin siblings whose souls were linked, found at a school...
Every supernatural incident was connected to the destroyed Classic of Mountains and Seas.
