What is a deity?
Can they destroy cities and fortresses with a single sword strike, split mountains and seas with one slash, punch open the firmament, tread upon the netherworld, bring the dead back to life with a breath, or make someone's soul scatter with a wave of the hand? And so on...
If mortals could gain all kinds of abilities by believing in and worshiping these deities, would the world become more wonderful, or more chaotic?
Reborn into a new life, Su Mu only wants to be a well-rounded bookworm, thriving in academics, moral character, physical fitness, aesthetics, and practical skills. He wants to teach in a small town, marry a wife, take his birds out for a stroll, and enjoy a quiet life.
Until one day, he discovers that perhaps deities aren't powerful because people believe in them. Perhaps they're powerful, or even exist, because people believe in them!
Su Mu: Everyone, I'm just a scholar who can't even truss a chicken. Why are you pressing me so hard?
The paragons of the righteous path and the demonic overlords stare at the Nezha apparition behind Su Mu: three heads and six arms, a Fire-Tipped Spear in its left hand, a Universe Ring in its right, Wind-Fire Wheels beneath its feet, and a Red Armillary Sash draped over its shoulders.
Could you put away that divine power before saying that? My legs are getting a little weak! T﹏T
Su Mu: Huh? Oh, right. The Third Prince does have a bit of a temper, so don't be scared. How about I have the Second Master talk to you instead! ❛˓◞˂̵✧
