Buddhist teachings are like a dazzling ray of white light, shining upon all sentient beings in the Desire Realm, the Form Realm, and the Formless Realm. They free people from affliction and the cycle of birth and death, leading them from suffering to joy. They guide people across the river of awakening and enlightenment, opening great wisdom and bringing them to the Dharma realm of the Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom, where principle and phenomena are perfectly integrated and unobstructed, and all things are free from hindrance. There, they escape birth and death and transcend the ordinary to become sages.
Buddhist teachings are also like a dazzling ray of white light, guiding people to abandon evil and cultivate goodness, avoid falling into the three lower realms, cultivate their bodies and minds, and develop both merit and wisdom. Step by step, they become more elevated, pure and unstained, at ease and free of striving, their hearts calm and untroubled.
And so, Buddhist teachings are always that ray of white light, luminous and clear. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are angels who spread light everywhere, pure and kind. With hearts of great compassion, they tirelessly save sentient beings day and night. The greatly compassionate Bodhisattvas pity all living beings as a mother cherishes her baby, helping them return to their mother's embrace, awaken, and find their way home. So the Bodhisattvas are light, and Buddhist teachings are light. Can sentient beings see it?
