Dust Settles on the Mother River

The troublemakers lived on a prosperous farmstead. In their memories, their mother was always there, guiding the rhythms of their lives. She played and laughed with the children, never letting hardship defeat them or reality make them give up on the beauty of the world.

Their mother tended the fields of grain, while the children stayed by her side to protect her. The little ones kept watch from dusk till dawn, gazing at the moon and waiting to trade the harvest for candy.

They all had dreams. The adults hoped the children would grow up safe and sound; the children hoped that, when they grew up, they would become the one the world had always meant for them to be!

Then one day, a sudden snowfall blanketed everything, and darkness fell over the city. The family set out on foot, following the lights and shadows.

Perhaps one day, even after climbing a mountain and seeing the sun, they would find it strange that the world seemed to have lost a mountain.
