This story is told mainly from the shou’s point of view. If you’re looking forward to Naruto, you can start at Chapter 29 of Volume One. It won’t affect what comes later.

Shuuya is the leader of the yokai beast clan and an illegitimate son within the clan. To ninjas, tailed beasts are monsters, and to ninjas, Shuuya is a monster among monsters.

After experiencing a false coexistence, Shuuya is even less willing to let ninjas and yokai coexist. Ninjas see the yokai clan as tools: the powerful ones are called tailed beasts, while the weaker ones are made into summoning beasts.

To save his people, he has no choice but to pretend to be friendly and get along with the ninjas. But as he spends time with them, why is that blue-eyed boy so handsome? Why does that boy talk so much? How can that boy be the Child of the World? How can the Child of the World be so innocent? And why is the Child of the World even more handsome now that he’s grown up?

Wait! My mask is about to slip! My friendly act is falling apart!

Hold on, that’s not right! If the boy is the Child of the World, does that mean he and I can never have a happy ending?

After softening toward Naruto again and again, Shuuya suddenly realizes that his body can’t take it anymore. The closer he gets, the more dangerous it becomes. He resolves to stay away from Naruto, but his heart only draws closer.

At last, he goes too far and gets sealed away. When they meet again, he appears on the battlefield as an Impure World Reincarnation alongside Uchiha Madara.

Madara: How did the kidney-deficient guy die?

Shuuya: Who reincarnated me?

Naruto: Boohoo, Big Brother Shuuya!
