After the coworker upstairs who often mooched rides from me got pregnant, she demanded that I put my dog down.
"What if your dog runs around and bites me, and I miscarry?"
"Dogs are covered in parasites and toxoplasmosis. What if my baby is born deformed?"
"And I still need rides from you. What if the germs from your dog get on you and end up in the car?"
Her endless questions left me completely dumbfounded.
I held my tiny, fluffy little dog and was utterly speechless at what she was saying.
"If you're worried, stop riding in my car. And I'm not your roommate. Whether I keep a dog has nothing to do with you."
But to my surprise, she completely lost it and started ranting in the work group chat,
painting me as a villain who bullied a pregnant woman and trying to get my coworkers to ostracize me.
I laughed in anger. People who don't know how to be grateful and keep pushing their luck really shouldn't be indulged.
