In the future, a passage to another world appears on the far side of the moon. Humanity fuses intelligent external brains with its warriors, develops special energy, and creates a new kind of soldier to guard the passage and stop an invasion from another world. As these enhanced warriors continue to develop, they eventually form a lunar power independent of Earth. They also suppress all information about the other world and all new technology, preserving peace on Earth while depriving it of the chance to develop spaceflight. The people of the moon discover a new habitable planet and no longer want to guard the passage for Earth. They prepare for a mass migration, but need time and troops to cover their retreat, so they devise a plan to raise Earth’s overall strength.
