Mu Wunian was a grass spirit who had failed to take human form. A powerful demon passing by, Li, brought her home and planted her in a flowerpot, carefully watering her and letting her bask in the sun. At last, she cultivated a human form, and Li took her on as his disciple.
"Master, why am I called Mu Wunian?"
"It expresses my fond wish that you be free of worries and desires, and live a happy life."
"Then why is your surname Li, while mine is Mu?"
"Ah... Right! You can take my surname! I was so focused on you being a grass spirit, but you can't exactly have the surname Grass, so I found you a distant relative."
Mu Wunian rolled her eyes.
But when Mu Wunian was two thousand years old, her master fell victim to a vicious attack. After that, she kept having the same dream over and over, in which she repeatedly drove nails into the same person, whose face she could never make out. She had no idea what terrible grudge she held against them.
Later, she met the man she had been nailing again and again, and fell in love with him.
She began having new dreams, and... they seemed to be prophetic dreams of the future?
She could weave dreams and change the actions of the people in them, but no matter how hard Mu Wunian tried, every dream ended with the person she loved dying a tragic death.
But she refused to give in. My husband, I will help you defy fate and change your destiny!
