The Morose Doctor in the Tower Game

[Infinite-flow + two male leads + a touch of universal appeal + no romance + not invincible + ensemble cast + slow-paced]

P.S. The protagonist is straight, a little crazy and a bit of a drama queen. Much of the story focuses on completing instances. There are one-sided crushes, but no romance in the main story.

Ever since he was a child, everyone around Wu Yulou had called him a “freak.” One night, while working the graveyard shift, he was forcibly romanced by a game called the Tower.

From then on, he traveled through one instance after another,

slashing his way through each one with a scalpel and unleashing chaos in the instance worlds.

As a doctor, he says, “A scalpel? Who says doctors can’t carry one around? Isn’t a scalpel for stabbing people? What else would you use it for, cutting cake?”

But after taking part in more and more instances, he realized that not only did his teammates seem to fall for him easily, the natives of the instance worlds did too.

[As everyone is drawn to the immortality atop the Tower,

with each step, is it a trap or a dream,

a sacrifice or redemption?

What, exactly, lies at the top of the Tower?]
