She can understand human speech, but since spirits aren’t allowed to cultivate into human form after the founding of the country, she’s content to live as a house cat and be fed. She dies saving Xu Xuan, who is nearly hit by a car, but then comes back to life. When she opens her eyes again, Yuanyuan has become the grown-up Xu Xuan.

Gu Bai is an internationally acclaimed movie emperor and one of China’s top three award-winning actors. He has won countless awards, is a box office draw, and wields immense influence in the entertainment industry. His family background is unfathomably powerful, and he is refined and easygoing.

When Gu Bai was young, he nearly caused a fatal accident while filming, but Xu Xuan’s grandmother saved him. He has always been grateful to her. Before Grandma Xu passed away, she asked him to look after her granddaughter, and Gu Bai naturally agreed.

At first, Gu Bai didn’t think looking after a young woman would be difficult. But after spending some time with her, he started to feel that he could be pretty inhuman at times. Then he stopped being human altogether.
