Burying the Immortal Realm: I Reforged the Heavenly Dao with a Geology Hammer

When a geological hammer struck a fragment of bronze, a thunderstorm over the Kunlun Mountains sent researcher Lu Chuan tumbling into a world that defied everything he knew.

The people here spoke Chinese, the stone stele at the village entrance was carved with the strange beasts of the Classic of Mountains and Seas, and golden cracks covered the sky beneath three waning moons. The villagers called this place the Immortal-Burial Realm.

With a modern geological atlas in his left hand, he formed cultivation hand seals with his right.

He had seen time freeze as an immortal palace collapsed, touched the golden blood seeping from a wound in the Heavenly Dao, and read a copy of the Dao De Jing, engraved in simplified Chinese, on the gourd at a mad old Daoist’s waist.

The sacred artifacts of the Nine Heavens Alliance thundered with ancient war songs, while a bronze mirror in the Mysterious Mechanisms Pavilion reflected the face of another transmigrator from a thousand years ago.

Golden traces of the Dao struggled to stir in the ruins of the Purple Sky Palace, then quietly crept into Lu Chuan’s pupils. It turned out that what people called ascension was merely the spark thrown off by wanderers finding their way home.

At the end of this journey in search of the Dao

lies the shared, sorrowful wish of all cultivators:

If the immortal realm has become a graveyard,

then rekindle the Primordial Chaos and reopen the Heavenly Dao.
