(A New Era take on the Ultraman universe + a heavily reworked Return of Ultraman storyline + EVA elements + somewhat satisfying, slow-burn angst)
In May 2022, after the “No. 0 Alien, Mefilas” left Earth, the biological weapons scattered across the world began to lose control one after another. They burrowed up from beneath the surface and wreaked havoc on human society. Countries around the world were at their wits' end over the irregular “Kaiju disasters.”
That same year, the 77th United Nations General Assembly voted to approve an emergency contingency plan. Building on the original Special Kaiju Countermeasures Unit under Japan's Disaster Management Agency, it expanded the organization into an international joint operations department called the “Kaiju Attack Force,” tasked with testing and deploying advanced artificial weapons to effectively combat biological weapons and extraterrestrial lifeforms.
One day, three years later, the “strategic industrial-function destruction lifeform, Takkong” and the “nuclear radiation-mutated deep-sea lifeform, Zazarn” were awakened by strange ocean currents. The two giant beasts landed in Shanghai while locked in combat. Wang Jinghu, who had been enjoying his vacation, was dragged into the chaos and tragically died while helping evacuate civilians.
Just before his body was taken away for cremation, a red light flashed inside the morgue's freezer. The combined radiation of “No. 133 superheavy element” and “high-dimensional solidified light” caused a drastic mutation in the DNA sequence within his corpse...
Three years later, the “Ultraman who returned” quietly took center stage in this cruel world. This time, however, humanity seemed to have gained a new understanding of him.
The plot of Guiman and the world view of Xinao are well integrated. Although it is not a perfect work, I am still willing to give five stars to encourage the author.
Great! You must keep writing!
The writing is very good. I hope it can be updated continuously. It can be seen that the author has a solid knowledge of military theory and has a good integration of the tokusatsu worldview and the real world. I don't want to be a eunuch. I like this book very much.
