Bending to the Spring Breeze

[Capital's golden boy vs. dedicated young reporter, wealthy family + mutually devoted 1v1]

Two years ago, she had fled her engagement party in disgrace amid a chorus of jeers. For a long time afterward, the memory clutched at her heart like a hand, keeping her tossing and turning sleepless through the night.

Two years later, she was working as a hostess at a nightclub, feeding the other person drinks with a flirtatious smile. “Have a drink, boss.” The moment the words left her mouth, an arm tightened around her waist. She looked up and found herself gazing into those familiar, deep-set eyes.

His thin lips moved, and he said with shameless nonchalance, “Feed me.”

She never expected her first meeting with Sheng Yanjing in two years to happen while she was undercover conducting a background check. She nearly died of embarrassment…

After that, he began appearing in her life more and more often.

She started avoiding him, sometimes openly and sometimes subtly. Her deliberate distance left him feeling as if he were filled with plum wine, sour and bitter.

At first, he said, “Zhao Jinman, I'm very busy. You know exactly what I want.”

When she lied and told him she had a boyfriend, he lifted her chin and kissed her hard. “You just love making me mad.”

She pointed to herself and said, “It's me. I don't want you anymore.”

His grip on her waist tightened. His voice turned icy, colder than zero: “Still arguing with me!”

Then, when she laughed brightly and chatted happily with another man, he finally saw red and pinned her against the door…

“Manman, I really was wrong…”
