500. Xuan Gu Shangren Xiao Cha was a peerless genius whose fame shook the Chaotic Star Sea. He created the top-tier demonic cultivation technique, the Profound Yin Scripture, founded Profound Yin Island, and wielded the Chaotic Star Sea's only Devil-Slaying Arrow made of Golden Thunder Bamboo. He had planned to seize the ancient treasure, the Void Heaven Cauldron, and obtain the Dry Blue Ice Flame to merge with the Asura Sacred Flame, then rule the Chaotic Star Sea. Instead, his two true disciples joined forces with outside enemies to ambush and kill him, trapping his Nascent Soul underground for 400 years. To take revenge, Xiao Cha cultivated ghostly arts and forged a Profound Soul body, escaping the cycle of reincarnation. After waiting a hundred years, he finally succeeded in possessing another body, only to run into a Golden Thunder Bamboo wholesaler with cheat-like powers. Unable to overcome the protagonist's halo, he played with fire and burned himself, becoming nothing more than a walking treasure delivery service. But Heaven rewards the determined: the clumsy old ghost left behind a wisp of divided soul. A hundred years later, he possessed another body once more, and the villain rose to become the protagonist.
