The main purpose of writing this book is to explore one question:
What kind of zombie apocalypse could destroy a powerful country?
Mindless zombies going "aaargh"? That wouldn't come close.
So I imagined a scenario and tried to make it as realistic as possible, drawing on as many sources as I could,
in the hope of depicting a zombie disaster powerful enough to match the strength of a nation.
There are supernatural abilities, but they're mainly there to serve the plot. Otherwise, the zombies would become so powerful that the story would inevitably turn into a clash between gods.

The protagonist, Wang Yi, is a low-ranking police officer in a county town.
Starting in Ning'an County, the story follows how he relies on his own strength to find a way to survive, step by step, in the zombie apocalypse.
