[Ambitious, unhinged, ruthless deposed empress × cold on the outside, warm inside, easygoing, loyal eunuch] [Ensemble cast, everyone is a good person, and everyone is not a good person.] The aloof emperor marries his deposed empress, Su Li, off to a young eunuch who empties the chamber pots in the Cold Palace. A few days later, the emperor grabs her by the throat and demands to know which man she has in her heart. Su Li is speechless: Weren't you the one who married me off to him? You gave yourself a pair of cuckold's horns, and now you're blaming me for it. Years later, when the powerful chief eunuch Fang Changqing dies, Su Li visits his grave, smiling through her tears. “Back then, His Majesty said he'd wipe out your entire clan. How could you not be afraid? I was your wife, after all.”
