Half a Life: A Sister-Protecting Maniac's Rise in the Underworld

[Underworld + No System + On the run + Non-realistic + Ensemble cast]

Original title: Half a Life

Eighteen-year-old Zhang Zhu drops out of school and lives with his underage sister in a workers’ dormitory at a construction site. He hauls bricks to support her and their mother, who has cancer.

Then his gambling-addict father kills himself, leaving behind a mountain of debt and making life even harder for the struggling family of three.

Just when all seems hopeless, Zhang Zhu encounters the first glimmer of light in his life: his first big brother.

From then on, Zhang Zhu takes off his construction-site camouflage uniform and sets out on a road of no return...

“I’m not afraid to die. I’m only afraid my mom and sister won’t have enough to eat or warm clothes to wear. And I’m even more afraid that they’ll get dragged into this while I’m still alive!”

“You might have power, connections, and people on your side. I, Zhang Zhu, have only this worthless life. If you touch anyone close to me, we can die together!”

Kill one, and it’s worth it. Kill two, and you come out ahead!
