Light, Behind Us and Ahead

[Contains original elements, an alternate universe, multiple Adepts, and angst. The writing may have plenty of problems.]

Seventy years ago, darkness and light came to this world. Seventy years later, their war began.

Wang Jinqiang was just an ordinary people's teacher and a retired pilot.

He might not be able to kick someone ten meters away, but eight meters was doable.

After taking charge of a new class at the start of the school year, he dreamed of that light one night.

And so began his daily routine of working overtime at school while protecting the world.

Then...

Friends, things went disastrously from the start: the satellite got MVP!

What? They're all on our side? Then no problem, we've got a perfect start!

What? His entire clan got wiped out in a game of Alien Beast Whack-a-Mole?

A student turned into Mephisto?

And then the poor guy's plane crashed in the very first volume.

Next, the unreliable Noa passed the light on to his student, Li Chenhao.

The thing is, the kid is still a minor, and he's a reformed Mephisto at that. Damn it, Noa is the absolute worst.

For personal reasons, the author updates infrequently, so bear with it. Half sweet, half angst. Things go off the rails starting in Chapter Eight (probably because the author was corrupted by something wicked). Also, for personal reasons, the author can only guarantee one update a week.
