Huang Xiaoyun is a boy. Don't assume his name belongs to a girl, because he's actually a boy. He has worked odd jobs for a long time without making anything of himself, and feels he has no future there. So he decides to use this as a chance to switch jobs. After much consideration, he figures that the best way to gain experience is to travel far and wide. He decides to leave this factory and try his luck in Taishan City.
Early one morning, beneath a deep blue sky, the roadside trees still held dew from the night before. Though it was summer, the weather had turned, and a cool breeze brought a slight chill. A thin layer of fog still lingered in the distance. This place was not far from the T City district. Cars came and went along the road, and it was nearly seven o'clock, the usual time to start work. I rode my motorcycle to Xiaoyun's home, speeding along a straight cement road through the city district. The wind whooshed past both my ears, accompanied by the sound of my motorcycle. Buses were already running nonstop, and students were pedaling their bicycles to school. Everywhere, crowds bustled with noise and activity.
At the gates of some factories along the way, early-morning market vendors were already setting up stalls to sell breakfast. It took less than half an hour on my motorcycle to pass an archway by the roadside and turn right. Before long, I arrived at my friend Huang Xiaoyun's home. And so my friend's story of working odd jobs begins.
