Mom, Don't Stay Behind for Me

I'm the ungrateful daughter in a romance novel about a man winning back his wife. Tomorrow, Mom is supposed to return to her original world. Before she leaves, she says:

"Zizi, if you'll just give Mommy a hug, I won't leave."

I ignore the tears in her eyes and turn to wrap my arms around Dad's one true love.

"You're too ugly. I want Auntie Jiang to be my mom."

The floating comments above my head are hurling insults at me. Someone says:

[That little ingrate really is a cannon-fodder female supporting character. Just wait until that woman surnamed Jiang gets her killed and leaves her body in the wilderness!]

In the story, I die a miserable death.

But it doesn't matter.

Mom, don't stay for me.

In this life, I only want you to be happy.
