The freshly bloomed Little Lotus Fairy hasn’t even had a chance to admire the beauty of the Celestial Realm when the Supreme Lord Lao sends her down to save the Crown Prince, who is undergoing tribulations.
Most people go through their romantic and hardship tribulations separately, but he can’t be bothered with all that and insists on facing them both at once.
Fearing he won’t be able to endure the hardships, the old immortals of the Celestial Realm send a little fairy who has only just taken human form to help him.
Little Lotus has never seen the vast mortal world either. After enduring wind and frost and suffering one hardship after another, she nearly forgets she’s a fairy herself.
While carrying out her mission, the Supreme Lord Lao tells her that the child in the river is the one she must protect. At last, she remembers why she came down to the mortal realm.
Shen Yaozhi hauls the child out of the river without the slightest tenderness. Then, in an effort to make him self-reliant, she goes to great lengths, resorting to scolding or beating him at the drop of a hat.
When she finally returns to the Celestial Realm, Little Lotus is sure she’s done a great deed. But why is the Crown Prince looking at her so strangely? What’s with that resentful look?
Crown Prince: “How is your spell practice coming along?”
Little Lotus trembles. “Your Highness, I was wrong! Please spare me!”
