[Historical setting, imaginative premise. The heroine may be a farmer's daughter, but her ambitions span the realm. Political intrigue will come later.]
[The heroine is ruthless and vengeful, and shows little mercy to her enemies. She loves power and money, hates being threatened, and will never bow to anyone but herself.]
Jing Lan always thought she was an ordinary transmigrator. She had even wondered if she might be the heroine of a farming novel, since her mother was so weak-willed, her father so blindly filial, her grandparents so awful, and she was so pitiful.
Typically, a transmigrated heroine would find a way to persuade her weak-willed mother and blindly filial father to split from the family, fight endlessly with her awful grandparents, uncles, and aunts, work hard to get rich, marry an amnesiac prince or an injured general, and eventually sacrifice herself to bring happiness to the whole family.
The idea that she should work hard herself while letting her parents enjoy the fruits of her labor was laughable. What was so great about being a “good” daughter? If she was going to be anything, she would be the one in charge.
Jing Lan's efforts to bring her “family” under her command as subordinates had been going smoothly, but then she was suddenly ambushed. She also discovered that this world wasn't as simple as it seemed...
She also learned by chance that, in the previous life of someone who had been reborn, she had been an elite among elites. Some wanted to recreate her life, while others wanted to follow her and change the world...
With her Gu techniques in hand, even when her cards are laid on the table, she's still the one who wins in the end.
(There is a male lead, one-on-one romance. The heroine isn't love-brained, and she will definitely become emperor in the end. The male lead might, at most, become her empress consort.)
The plot is very well written. I originally wanted to give it five stars, but there were a lot of typos from Chapter 30 onwards.
