The Stars: Contemporary Hard Sci-Fi in Tribute to The Three-Body Problem

The Three-Body Problem, the dark forest, the future, nuclear fusion, national destiny, the race for space, alien civilizations, colonizing Mars, and starships reaching the moon.

Napoleon once said that truth is always within range of a cannon. Five hundred years ago, we missed the Age of Exploration, allowing a billion people in the Western world to claim most of the world's land and resources. Two hundred years ago, we missed the Industrial Revolution, and the Chinese nation fell behind the world's civilizations for a time. If we sit out this age of interstellar exploration too, the Western nations led by the United States will claim near-Earth orbit and the moon as bridgeheads, then go on to occupy Mars and even the entire solar system. We will be penned into 9.6 million square kilometers beneath Earth's atmosphere, with nowhere left to retreat...

China missed its chance in the past, but we absolutely must not miss the future! We blame our ancestors for abandoning the seas; we must never let future generations accuse us of abandoning space! This is both an opportunity and a challenge for our generation, and a mission and responsibility we must shoulder. Interstellar colonization is just around the corner. Our own Age of Exploration has begun. Our destination is the stars and the vast reaches of the Milky Way; our mission is to patrol space and draw our swords beneath the heavens!
