"I came to the mortal world for no reason but to seek a little freedom."

I wander this world, lost and adrift, clinging to an elusive obsession with freedom. Along the way, I've seen the bright moon shining above mountains of blades and seas of blood. I've spun tales among the factions and clans of powerful organizations, stirred up storms, and turned the tables to win against all odds, saving the day when all seemed lost.

I speak my mind without fear of the powers above, shatter the clouds as they tumble down, and lean from a lofty tower like an immortal of jade fallen from heaven. Invaders set rivers ablaze and act without restraint. With a single sweep of my sword, I gather the green mountains and stand atop their peaks, carrying all the spirited abandon of my life as I feel the loneliness of this world. The long wind howls, and the higher one climbs, the colder it gets.

When my obsession finally fades, those who should not have died return from hell. Snow and ice fall, burying everything, and the world forgets it all.

This book tells only the sorrowful tale of a caged bird beneath a square of sky, who pays the price, breaks its wings, and lands on a branch beyond the wall, beneath the bright moon, yet still beneath the same sky.
