Little Maoshan Taoist Master

"Senior Brother, Senior Brother, if an evil cultivator learns your birth date and time, can they curse you? Then if I give an evil cultivator who's out to get me the birth date and time of our late founding patriarch and claim it's mine, will the curse rebound and kill them?"

"Senior Brother, Senior Brother, doesn't our Maoshan sect know how to summon gods? If I summon the Thunder God of the Nine Heavens Yingyuan Palace into my body while undergoing a tribulation, will the heavenly lightning stop striking me?"

"Senior Brother, Senior Brother, if I run into a ghost I can't beat and it kills me, since I died a violent death, can I kill that ghost after I turn into one?"

"Senior Brother, Senior Brother, is the King of Hell a ghost or a god?"

At Maoshan there was a disciple who began studying the Dao at six, practiced swordsmanship at nine, and learned to draw talismans and catch ghosts at eleven. By seventeen, his mastery of the Daoist arts was complete, yet he still often went to pester his senior brother, the sect leader, with research into all sorts of pointless topics.

One day, things suddenly fell quiet. The sect leader, Master Ge Qing, found himself feeling a little out of sorts.

"Hm? Where's that boy Li Qingxuan?"

"Master, your grand-disciple has gone down the mountain!"

The sect leader nodded. "Good. He needs some real-world experience. If he keeps asking questions all day, who could put up with him?"

Meanwhile, outside Maoshan, Li Qingxuan declared, "Our Maoshan sect is famous for standing up for our own. You mess with a junior, and a senior comes after you. You might even bring back someone who's already dead. You dare call me a charlatan?"

"You're a Daoist priest. Why are you insulting people? Aren't you supposed to cultivate your character and maintain your composure?"

"You ruined my Daoist heart! How am I supposed to cultivate my character and maintain my composure? I never let a grudge sit overnight. If I don't wipe you out root and branch, I won't be able to sleep!"
