[Fragment of a Bamboo Slip: Year 20 of Longwu]
“Idle tongues say that in his youth, the ruler always kept his head down as he hurried along, much like the dormant wolf of the Sima family.”
(Annotation: The ink sinks deep into the slip, as though the writer held his brush suspended for a long while.)
Some compared the ruler to:
Wei Qing reborn, slaying eight hundred horsemen of the Xiongnu chanyu in battle.
Yi Yin returned to life, forging a celebrated bond between ruler and minister.
Wang Mang reborn, bestowed with the Nine Bestowments and bringing calamity upon the people.
(Annotation: All three comparisons are wrong!)
“When the stars fell over Wuzhang Plains, I would return to Chang’an’s Han palaces...
Only then would I realize that the bloody road beneath my feet was precisely the road Cao Mengde was meant to walk...”
(Annotation: This shows that Wei Taizu Cao Zi’an inherited the legacy. Cao Cao accepted the Nine Bestowments and became Prince of Wei and Jin. Lian succeeded him, inherited the mandate, and ascended the imperial throne.)
“A traitor to Han? Ha! If I did not hold the realm together...
How many times would this land have been divided, and how many men would have been made kings...”
Not bad, very detailed, worth a look
Awesome, different way of writing, but more engaging, okay, okay. This book needs to be read with your brain, it is not the kind of mindless and invincible text, hahahahahahahahahaha
After reading a few chapters, except for the awkward address between him and Cao Ang 🤦 🤦 🤦, everything else is good. Generally speaking, it is a good thing [sending my heart][sending my heart][sending my heart]
