Chen Hui is a former researcher at the "Ecological Observatory". When the Great Greening Disaster broke out, he was researching a magic catalyst that could accelerate plant evolution. After the disaster, the observation station's protective shield was torn apart by vines, and colleagues were either infected by the spores and turned into "phytobots" or disappeared during the escape. Chen Hui's left arm was burned by the juice of a mutated pothos, leaving a network of green scars, but he also gained a special ability: he could understand the "whispers" of plants (a frequency similar to vibrations in the brain), but this ability would cause him to frequently hallucinate, as if there were vines drilling through his body.
