"Rebirth: Picking Cotton on the Plantation" is a novel with the theme of black slaves' resistance to slavery. The protagonist is reborn as a black slave and suffers oppression on a plantation. Unwilling to accept his fate, he first gained some hope by increasing cotton production, and his contacts with northern businessmen brought hope. The black slaves gradually united and planned an uprising driven by changes in the external situation. Although the uprising went through hard fighting, northern support turned the tide of the war and the black slaves were finally freed. Since then, they have rebuilt plantations, developed education, improved lives, established institutions, actively communicated with foreign countries and responded to challenges, demonstrating the perseverance of black slaves from being enslaved to making their own decisions and striving to create a new life.
