[Childhood sweethearts from wealthy families + older woman/younger man (two-year age gap) + both each other’s first + happy ending]
The first thing Mo Linjun does after returning to the country is expose to his childhood sweetheart that her philandering boyfriend, who’s about to get engaged to her, is sleeping with her cousin. And that’s not even the only woman he’s been flirting with.
Yun Mengnian has had enough. She dumps the scumbag without hesitation and plans to start a new chapter in her life.
But what’s with her handsome childhood-friend little brother? He keeps using every trick in the book to act cute and tempt her, drawing her into his arms one step at a time. In the end, she’s the one acting cute.
Can a childhood sweetheart beat a newcomer? The hero has been plotting this for years, and his longtime crush finally comes true. The heroine has no golden finger. She’s strong and capable in her career, but a complete novice when it comes to love.
The leads both speak their minds, and misunderstandings never last overnight.
Warnings:
This isn’t exactly a power-fantasy story about a strong female lead, nor is it a marriage-first, love-later romance. Early on, the heroine hasn’t realized she likes the hero, so it takes her a while to confirm their relationship.
There are no danmei elements among the supporting characters and no melodramatic plot twists, but there are tired tropes involving the leads being drugged and a car accident.
This is a light, amateurish read, and the plot and writing have their share of flaws, so don’t nitpick the details.
Let me give myself a reward for my first good review!
