There Is a Whisper of Silence

Needless to say, our era lacks quietness. Since steel bars replaced mud and tiles, and machines replaced farming, quietness has become more and more distant from our lives. We seem to be accustomed to the noise, to the speed, to the quietness and slowness in life, and they are leaving hand in hand. All we hear and accompany is the roar of the times, countless involuntary movements that make it difficult for us to see ourselves clearly. When I reviewed Wang Wei's "Wangchuan Collection" for several spring nights in a row, I suddenly felt that Wang Wei may be a poet of more significance than any other poet today. With the help of poetry, Wang Wei continues to tell us how to get along with nature, and also tells us the reasons for entering nature. In the silence revealed by Wang Wei, the true nature of nature appears before us. Without the authenticity of nature, there would be no authenticity of human beings. If human beings lose their authenticity, they will lose the preciousness of their soul.
