Also known as "After I Wiped Out the Entire Family of the Person I Was Supposed to Win Over"
A double dose of physical and emotional angst! Political intrigue and revenge, sweet at first, then heartbreaking. A sure bet!
Devoted, possessive prince top X sweet-faced, dark-hearted beauty seeking revenge bottom
Gu Jinli's desperate warning: Don't be fooled by Rong Yan's gentle, mild-mannered appearance. He's a complete lunatic!
The first three chapters take their time, so don't rush, dear readers. The pace goes into overdrive later.
Gu Jinli never imagined that simply carrying out an assignment from his elder brother would make him the target of someone's attention.
And by someone beautiful and gentle, too! The beauty's a little aloof, but that's fine. One day, he'll surely warm his heart.
Just as Gu Jinli is about to complete the final step in winning the beauty over, the beauty transforms into a treacherous minister who stages a coup and usurps the throne!
He turns against the court, fine, but he drags Gu Jinli into it, too.
Oh well, Gu Jinli shakes his head. If that's what he wants, then Gu Jinli will take the world for him. As long as the beauty is happy.
What Gu Jinli never imagined, though, was that staging the coup and usurping the throne was only the first step in Rong Yan's revenge plan, and Gu Jinli was part of that plan, too...
Strong characters. He ignored the gods in easy times, then chased his wife too late.
The author's other novel is a modern fantasy, "The Merman Big Shot Is Gorgeous and Flirtatious Again", about a proud merman who runs away while pregnant.
