On the frontier of the Dongyuan Continent, Gu Haoyu is a young man with the rare gift of ice-aspected spiritual energy. Though his family shuns and misunderstands him, he holds fast to an unyielding heart. When his parents are framed by the clan chief and meet a tragic end, he vows to avenge them and sets out on a thorny path of cultivation. During his escape, he awakens the spirit within a jade pendant: a once-powerful cultivator who becomes his mentor, helping him rebuild his spiritual meridians and fuse with the power of lightning.
Gu Haoyu's journey is full of challenges and extraordinary encounters, from training at the Lingdao Sect to a mysterious forbidden land in the North Pole, and then to the demonic invasion of the Western Wastelands. Every trial makes him stronger.
When Gu Haoyu finally gains enough power to return home and take revenge, he discovers that an even greater conspiracy is brewing. He must face not only his family's betrayal, but also the covetousness of other clans, the entire demon realm, and even the mysterious Spirit Domain behind it all. Guided by Xingchen, he sets out to find the elemental powers of the Five Domains. After countless hardships, he finally gathers the key elements needed to revive his parents and Xingchen.
Yet the real battle has only just begun. Gu Haoyu and Xingchen fight side by side in a battle of creation. In the end, the Spirit Domain is driven back, but Haoyu is gravely wounded. During the battle, the woman he loves gives everything for him.
